Need information about our courses, degree requirements, and registration? We hope to provide you with much of that information here.
At the present time, about 150 undergraduates major in Geology and about 35 graduate students are enrolled in MS programs. Our graduate students work on a wide variety of projects.
All of our graduate students are expected to take part in a one year orientation seminar series (Geology 595) that introduces them to the research being done by Western faculty, gets them familiar with the art of proposal writing, and allows them the opportunity to give research talks. A number of field trips that introduces students to the geology of the Pacific Northwest are also required.
